About NOLIPLA

NOLIPLA logo is made of 3 elements:

  • The grey curve in the background is a typical nonlinear model of a traveling wave tube, the Saleh model;
  • The green leaf is the symbol of the energy optimization;
  • The satellite with its solar panels, its orbit is an extension of the tip of the leaf.

NOLIPLA comes from Non Linear Payload Architecture

Amplifiers in telecommunication satellite payloads are nonlinear and their nominal RF power and back-off must be optimized for the best possible compromise between efficiency and linearity in the link budget.

I work on the payload architecture, signal modulation, RF power, and amplifier back-off to minimize the energy used by the satellite to transmit each bit of information without error to a receiver.

This is also necessary for ground and mobile transmission in modern high bit rate telecommunications.

The optimization of the amplifier RF power and output back-off is an input for the link budget and is no longer obtained by trial and errors.
